While doing some research on ASCAP of some of the writers of MJ's songs I found the silent genius behind Michael Jackson's biggest hits. The money in music is always in the publishing (writing). This British fellow wrote the following songs:
"Thriller", "Rock with You", "Off the Wall", "Baby Be Mine", "Burn This Disco Out", "The Lady In My Life" "Someone In The Dark", "Hot Street".
and a shit-ton of other R&B hits that no one would ever imagine a white guy is behind, including Michael McDonald: "Sweet Freedom" and who could guess a 60 year old Brit wrote LL Cool J featuring Boyz II Men: "Hey Lover".
